MCBA Scholarship Fund
Our Scholarship fund is named after Chuck Waltz to honor and carry on his commitment to encourage students to enter the trades. The goal of the scholarship program is to grant scholarships each year to students continuing to further their education in the trades. Each year the Maine Contractors & Builders Alliance hosts a "Contractors' Yard Sale" which determines the amount of money we can use for the scholarships. In the past we have been able to grant approximately 5 - $500 scholarships ranging from contracting management, engineering, CAD training, machinist, plant/soil technology to diesel mechanic.
We base our scholarship grants on several areas of evaluation, including grades, financial need, work background and reasons for selecting the chosen field. Each year the high school guidance counselors from Damariscotta to Belfast, including North Haven and Vinalhaven, are contacted. Members of the Alliance attend career days when held at the various schools to encourage students to enter the trades.
Scholarship forms are available through the guidance departments of each school. Complete and type this form completely and accurately and return to your Guidance Office. Kindly ask them to attach this application to a copy of your High School record transcript, accompanied with a brief letter of recommendation.

Please note that we will not be awarding scholarships in 2010. We plan to resume offering them next year, so please check back!
